One of the best parts of having a garden is being able to use it to host your nearest and dearest whenever the sun comes out. From splashing around in a paddling pool, to topping up that tan and everything in between, my garden is the social hub for all of my friends and family. Here are four ways that I get my garden ready for Summer entertaining.

Spend time on your weeding

It’s a job that nobody likes to do, but taking the time to get on your hands and knees to pull up all of those unwanted weeds is going to make the world of difference when it comes to the way that your garden looks. Do your research before pulling up any weeds though; some weeds are ones that keep bees happy and thriving, so you want to make sure you keep those in your garden.

Mark out different areas

I am somebody who likes to have a plan in place, which means that if I am going to be using my garden in the Summer I want to know that I have certain areas specified for different things. I like to know that my kettler garden furniture has plenty of space in the sociable area, away from the potential smoke of BBQs and prying eyes on neighbours, and I think if you are entertaining then it’s always nice to have designated areas for drinks and snacks. If you want to add more privacy or define different sections of your garden, you can explore G&G Fencing for a great range of fencing options that look stylish and are built to last.

Beat the crowds for your BBQ

Every year the sun starts shining, I dust off my BBQ from last year, and I go out to top up things like gas and all of my favourite BBQ meats; only to find that everybody else had the same thought at the same time as I did! Beat the crowds this year by planning all of that in advance, making sure everything is ready before the sun starts shining, so that when the first hot day comes along you can get straight into enjoying the nation’s favourite Summer pastime.

Get good quality seating

Having a place to sit down while out in the garden is very important to me. Whether it’s a place to munch away on a hot dog that is fresh off the BBQ, or somewhere to lounge in the baking hot sunshine, I like my guests to have somewhere they can totally relax. Gardens need good garden furniture sets that are sturdy and reliable, because once you’ve got the right set and you look after it properly it’s going to last you and your garden for years. I also like to have somewhere to really hang out like a hammock with stand, it creates a fun feature in your garden too. For a sleek and modern touch that complements your furniture, consider Double Slatted Fence Panels to add both privacy and a stylish backdrop to your outdoor space.
