1) Stop Buying Bottled Water

The price of bottled water in the UK is rising and rising. Bottled water is a bad idea all around, it’s bad for the consumer and for the environment. ‘300 million tons of plastic waste is produced each year around the world. 1,500 plastic bottles are thrown away every second of every day. By 2021, the consumption of plastic bottles is set to hit half a trillion every year.’ By buying a refillable water bottle and using tap water, you can help the environment and help save money fast!

2) Reduce Your Mobile Phone Plan

The bargains you can get with mobile phone plans make what we were paying a few years ago absolutely embarrassing. Reduce your mobile phone plan expense by switching to a cheaper plan every time it’s time to renew. NEVER stick to the same plan. Either call your provider and find the best option for you or use comparison websites. Sometimes you can get cashback too!

You’d be surprised by how many people are paying too much for their mobile phone plan.

3) Cancel TV Cable

For many people, cable is a daily habit. The average American watches about 4 hours of TV a day, and many people spend the majority of their free time in front of the TV. In addition to this, Americans are spending an average of $100 per month on cable bills.

I know I NEVER watch live TV so having a TV package would be completely useless. When you have streaming services like Netflix and Amazon, as well as a smart TV where you can log into iPlayer and BBC, is there any need for cable too? Save money fast by getting rid of it!

Many people don’t realize they could save £1000s by canceling cable that they don’t use and switching to streaming services like Netflix and Amazon Prime Video.

4) Cut Down on Eating Out

Eating out can be expensive and time-consuming. Choosing to cook at home will save you money and allow you to spend more time with friends and family. The best part is that you can make it as complicated or as simple as you want. Food subscription boxes take the effort out of meal planning, help cut back on wastage, and encourage you to try new cuisines. They’re also pretty cost-effective!

5) Declutter & Sell

Decluttering is one of my favourite things to do, I love having a clearout, making space, and most importantly, selling on things I no longer need or want for some extra money. You’d be surprised at just how much is sat around your house, from things you forgot to return to things you’ve used once and never touched again. Have a deep clearout and get listing those things on eBay and Facebook Marketplace!
